Spring 2 - 2025

Communication and Language: We will continue to develop our language skills through learning phonics, reading, talking about, sharing, listening to and retelling stories. We will encourage verbal language, supported by the use of visual prompts.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Now we have learnt about feelings from “The Colour Monster”, this term we are going to learn to identify how we are feeling and learn ways to manage how we feel, with the help of “The Feelings Doctor” by Anna Llenas.

Literacy: We will continue to work on forming the letters of the alphabet and start to recognise the initial sounds in words.  We will complete activities based on "The Feelings Doctor" and related texts.

Maths: For our mathematical development, we continue to work on our personal targets and as a class we be concentrating on one more and one less within 10.  We will use rhyme, song and practical resources to help us.  We will continue to practise colour and shapes.

Physical Development: We will continue to provide the children with hands-on, sensory-rich learning experiences and continue to work on essential life skills, like using the toilet and practising using cutlery at lunchtime, to enhance coordination and independence.  We will be jumping, climbing and balancing to develop our motor skills and core strength.
