Topic

This year in Sunshine Class we are learning all about the seasons.  Our topic this term is “autumn”.  We will explore autumn through sensory play and activities, like music, arts and crafts.

Literacy

We will be exploring songs and stories related to our topic. Learning to understand and use more language related to our topic.  We will work on our mark making/writing, phonics and reading skills at our individual levels.

Maths                                                                                                   

We will be working on colours, matching, sorting and number.  We will practise our skills as a class and through play and continue to work on our individual targets.

Personal, social and emotional development

We will be: exploring our new classroom, learning to be independent, making new friends and taking turns, learning ways to regulate our emotions.

Physical development

We will be: exploring our outdoor environments: the playground, the astro and the forest area, joining in music and movement activities, learning to be more independent with our self-care and taking responsibility for our things.

Communication and language development

We will be: learning to use symbols, signs and words to communicate our needs and developing our language through songs, rhymes, stories and play.
