Nursery Admissions
We offer 90 full time Nursery places each academic year for children wanting to join our Nursery class.
Children's names are placed on our waiting list and places are allocated by the school in the following priority order:
- Look-After children or children in public care.
- Children who have a brother or sister already attending the school (if there are not enough places, then these children are allocated places in age order, i.e. oldest first).
- Children who live nearest to the school.
Our intake for Nursery takes place in September and we follow a settling-in procedure that is usually phased over a period of four weeks which allows us to spend quality time getting to know each individual child.
Starting Nursery
There is a settling-in process in our Nursery class. Children will attend on a part-time basis when they are first admitted which is usually for a four week period. During this period, your child's hours in school will be gradually increased until they are attending full time. This settling-in process will be discussed with you and your child's best interest will always be the first consideration. If you want to stay with your child to help them settle into their new class then this can be discussed with your child's class teacher. Please note, we do not offer part-time places in our Nursery class.
If your child is offered a place in our Nursery class, this does not guarantee your child a place in the Reception class at Wilbraham Primary. Reception admissions are managed by Manchester School Admissions in accordance with Manchester City Council’s Education Department guidelines. For further information, please see our Reception Admissions page.
